Do you really have a quote for every minute?
Yes! There are 1440 minutes of the day, and we have quotes for every single minute—no exceptions. The vast majority of minutes have multiple quotes that will be shown at random every day for even more variety.
What kind of diversity of authors is in the quotes used?
We use quotes from any literary work of fiction that mentions the time, and we've collected quotes from thousands of authors from all parts of the world. If you’d like to see a specific author represented, send us a quote from their book that mentions the time!
Is the same quote shown at the same time every day? How about for a.m./p.m.?
Wherever we have multiple quotes for a specific minute, Author will randomly select one of them for each instance that minute comes around. In many cases, it can be weeks before a quote is shown again.
If a quote explicitly mentions a.m./p.m. or otherwise specifies if it is day or night, that quote will only be used as appropriate. If the quote is ambiguous, it may be used in either context.
Is there any type of warranty?
We offer a one-year warranty on any manufacturing defect. Reach out to us directly at info@authorclock.com if you have any issues.
Does Author have an alarm feature?
No, Author is not an alarm clock; it has no speakers or audio whatsoever.
Can the clock read the quotes out loud?

Yes! Every Author Clock has built-in Wi-Fi, which will allow it to receive automatic updates with new quotes and features.
Is the screen backlit?
No, the E-Paper screen was selected to imitate pages from a book, so there is no backlight.
Environmental Commitments
Author Clock is built to endure with minimalistic design. We designed it to be easy to disassemble, empowering customers to perform future repairs or battery replacements for long-lasting use.
Author Clock will ship in a no-plastic packaging, to help ensure the packaging is easily recyclable and has minimal impact to the environment. The box is designed so that items can be stored inside and placed on a shelf to give the packaging a second life.
To reduce any impact from our white oak wood housing, we plant one tree for every Author Clock sold through our partner, OneTreePlanted. The front bezel is made of recycled ABS plastic, reducing landfill waste. The electronics components have ultra-lower power consumption for lower electricity usage.
We are partnering with a third-party logistics company to set up several distribution centers around the world. That way, we ensure your Author Clock doesn't travel back and forth across the globe between manufacturers, warehouses, and your home.
